Outstanding success for the girls of St Joseph’s Rochfortbridge.

St Joseph’s Rochfortbridge celebrated the great achievement of their girls and teachers in winning two Leinster titles this year, they are Leinster champions in Senior B camogie, having won the Leinster C and the All Ireland last year and then moving up a grade to B this year and they are also Leinster B Ladies Football Champions. There are not too many schools that can boast about holding two Leinster titles so all are very proud of the achievements of the girls and are delighted to celebrate with them.

The special guest on the night was Cora Staunton, Mayo All-Star who’s own achievements have been phenomenal . Cora spoke of her hard work and discipline and gave the girls lots of positive advice on how to progress in their sport.

The girl’s success can be put down to a lot of factors. Firstly of course their talent as sports people but it takes more than that.  Their commitment to training, their enthusiasm, their positivity, their appreciation and the tremendous support they get from both their parents and teachers are all factors in their success.  We wish them well as they represents their school, their county and their  province in the next round of both competitions.

Learning Awareness week

This week November the 21^st to 25^th is Learning Awareness week here in St Joseph’s.   We are working with students in developing their independent learning skills and honing skills that they will require for either the world of work or for success in College. We hope that during this week students will discover the type of learner they are and how best they learn, that they will learn how to make more effective use of their study time and that they will set targets for themselves which will provide a focus to their school work.
